Jasna Popovic

From Belgrade, Serbia, now NYC-based, internationally hailed pianist and Bechstein Artist Jasna Popovic has made recordings of ethno-classical Serbian music, and has performed in festivals and in concert across the globe, including Italy, Germany, and Austria. Having received her first piano lesson at age six, Ms. Popovic went on to graduate from Music High School for the Gifted in 1997, then attended the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany. She has won several awards, most notably Second Prize at the National Piano Competition in Belgrade and Fourth Place at the International Competition in Rome. In 2005, Ms. Popovic was honored with an invitation to perform at the International Keyboard Festival in New York. In 2006, after receiving the Passantino Award for Special Achievements from City University of New York, Ms. Popovic embarked on a string of successful performances at Steinway Hall, Lefrack Hall, and Carnegie Hall in New York, and then at Kolarac Hall in Belgrade, Serbia, the following year.
